the Master’s Thesis Evaluation Council in Civil Engineering

The Faculty of Postgraduate Studies Successfully Organized the Master’s Thesis Evaluation Council in Civil Engineering

On January 19, 2025, at the conference room of Campus 1, Lac Hong University, four students from the Civil Engineering program successfully completed and defended their master’s theses. The defense session took place in a formal and academic atmosphere, marking an important milestone in the academic and research journey of the students.

The evaluation council consisted of the following members: Dr. Nguyen Dinh Du – Lac Hong University; Dr. Nguyen Hong An – Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam National University – HCMC; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Duc Hien – Ton Duc Thang University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Xuan Loc – Lac Hong University; Dr. Le Trong Nghia – Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam National University – HCMC; Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Phuc – Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City.

The students successfully defended their theses on the following topics:

    1. The Impact of Wind Loads on High-rise Buildings in Thu Dau Mot City According to Standards TCVN 2737-1995 and TCVN 2737-2003 – by Tran Dang Quang

    2. Analysis of Displacement of a 400mm Thick Barrette Wall During Basement Construction Using the Bottom-Up Method in Ho Chi Minh City – by Phan Anh Tin

    3. Experimental Study and Simulation of Internal Moisture Variation in Concrete at Early Ages – by Tran Hoan Duy Tung

    4. Impact of Structural Systems on Failure Mechanisms and Response Factors of High-rise Buildings Under Earthquake Loads – by Nguyen Dinh Ty

These theses focused on technical and scientific issues in the construction sector, with high practical applicability, in line with local conditions and current standards. The research topics were diverse, covering load analysis, displacement analysis, experimental testing, and simulation, reflecting creativity and depth in approaching the issues. The research not only contributed to enhancing professional knowledge but also supported the resolution of practical challenges in structural design and construction.

The thesis defense session concluded successfully, but the knowledge and experience gained by the students throughout their studies and research will continue to accompany them, contributing to the development of the Civil Engineering field in the future. Lac Hong University is proud and will always be a supportive companion on their path of professional development.
