LHU and YunTech deepen collaboration through seminar on Food and Environmental Sciences

On July 7, 2025, the Faculty of Science and Food Technology at LHU in collaboration with National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (YunTech), Taiwan, solemnly held an international academic seminar themed “Highlighting Research Trends in Food and Environmental Sciences”.

This event marked a significant milestone in the bilateral cooperation between LHU and YunTech - one of Taiwan's leading technological institutions, with a student population of over 10,000 and a strong focus on applied research.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Le Thi Thu Huong – Dean of the Faculty of Science and Food Technology – emphasized“Today’s program is not only an opportunity for academic exchange between the two institutions but also paves the way for great potential in research, teaching, and student support”.

A highlight of the seminar was the keynote presentations delivered by Prof. Dr. Yu-Shen Cheng, Prof. Dr. Ya-Hsin Hsueh, and Assoc. Prof. Po-Kai Wu. The experts from YunTech shared in-depth insights into current research trends in applied biotechnology for food production and environmental protection fields that are attracting increasing attention from both academia and global businesses.

Following the presentations, students and faculty from both institutions engaged in lively discussions, opening up various potential areas for future collaboration, particularly master's scholarship opportunities at YunTech for LHU students.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, Vice Rector of LHU, highly appreciated the Faculty’s efforts in promoting international collaboration while expressing his expectations for further progress in the University’s journey of international integration and educational quality enhancement.

The seminar concluded with a souvenir exchange and a warm gathering, leaving a lasting impression of friendship and collaboration between the two universities, which, though separated by thousands of kilometers, share a common vision of advancing knowledge and serving the community.
