A supervisory delegation of NA’s Committee of Science, Technology and Environment visited LHU

A supervision delegation of the National Assembly (NA) Committee on Science, Technology and Environment visited and worked with LHU leaders on October 6, 2023 to monitor the implementation of policies and laws on the development of the science and technology market.

The delegation was led by Mr. Nguyen Phuong Tuan - Vice Chairman of the NA Committee on Science, Technology and Environment, along with National Assembly deputies of Dong Nai, Phu Yen, Lam Dong provinces, and representatives of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee.

Working with the delegation were Dr. Lam Thanh Hien - Rector; members of the Rectorate Board; leaders of faculties, offices, and centers of LHU.

Mr. Lam Thanh Hien - Rector of LHU sharing achievements and difficulties in scientific research and technology transfer 

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Lam Thanh Hien - Rector of LHU said "LHU is one of the leading higher education institutions of the country to gain many achievements in the application of technological & scientific advancements and technology transfer. The good and modern learning and working environment has facilitated LHU lecturers' and students' research and creativity. LHU has become a leading unit in scientific research and technology transfer in Dong Nai province, contributing to promoting local socio-economic development."

The University also mentioned some difficulties and inadequacies in implementing scientific research projects at provincial and state levels, especially the acceptance of scientific research topics, state budget allocation for the University's scientific research activities. In addition, there were some shortcomings in the establishment of a Robot Center at LHU.

Also at the working session, the University proposed the delegation to study and adjust the mechanisms and policies related to the Science and Technology Development Fund for Enterprises in order to promote the role of units in science and technology in Dong Nai Province.

Concluding the working session, the supervisory delegation noted opinions for amendments to the new law.
