THE FACE NNA 2020: First Show Ever of Top 13

"Good quality", "professional", "refined" and "impressive" are the surprises that help the contestants and the viewers define The Face NNA 2020. After 4 months with 6 knockout rounds, top 13 of excellent contestants will have their first-ever show at 6 p.m. on January 8, 2021 at the King Hall of the Golden Palace Convention Center (Bien City).

The Face NNA – “Not Only Good Look”

The contestants consider ‘Not Only Good Look’ as a warning from the organizers represented by Mr. Nguyen Duc Duy Tan – the Secretary of Faculty of English Language Youth Union and FEL lecturer. Thanks to that, however, the contestants joining this year’s competition, apart from their good look, obviously bring a confidence in their English language competency. It is not exaggerating to claim that the Final Walk this year is a showcase of super guys and girls of the Faculty of English Language, Lac Hong University.

The Face NNA “Not only good look”

For nearly a week now since the invitation for the Final Walk came out, professional and luxurious, people has got really excited about the show. Because this is "only” a competition within the Faculty of English Language, but the organizers have invested heavily and taken care of it from the smallest detail, thereby forecasting the quality of the finalists and the finale in general and showing how cool it is.

Is The Face NNA 2020 a competition of quality?

With the smaller number of students in comparison with that of other faculties across the university, the Faculty of English Language perceive it as an advantage so that every single student in the faculty can be taken care of. The Face NNA is a testament to that claim. The Face NNA is not just a contest to find a king and queen of beauty, but the message and inspiration that the organizers of the contest have created are "transforming" the contestants, helping them to confidently assert themselves and their image through the challenges, and especially sharpen their skills to use English language for communication. The first criterion given by the organizers is to use 100% English during the competition.

From 35 candidates in the casting round, top 18 has gone through 6 rounds of challenges with 6 masterclasses on behaviors, teamwork, self-expression through fashion concepts, portraits, and advertising campaigns, etc. In addition, in each episode, apart from the challenges, the contestants were to participate in an interview to report, express their opinions about what had happened during the filming time in English. therefore, FEL students could appear to be versatile when stepping out of The Face NNA.

Mr. Dang Thi - Vice Dean of FEL - Professional Judge for the final round said: “The total cost for the competition has reached over 150 million VND. This funding comes from the support of the University, the Board of Directors and the funding called by the Organizing Committee from brands such as Cumfoto, CCWhite Cosmetics Company, TP Mobile, UB4 Body Cream, Local brand Tristendee, etc., in which, more than 40 million dong was spent for the prizes. The Face NNA is not just a contest. We hope it is a playground for each of our students to have a chance to assert themselves. In FEL, the students play to learn. They learn even the rules of life – learn to accept wins or losses, learn to accept success and failure and thereby helping them reach another height in life. Teachers believe that The Face NNA or any playground that FEL creates will be unforgettable memories in their youth. I wish 13 finalists will truly shine at the show. And I hope that they will be satisfied with the preparation of the Organizing Committee.”

A show of the students, and for the students

The special thing is that the organizers are mostly young students of the Faculty. Teachers are just facilitators and assistants, and everything from the images, ideas of each round, challenge content are conceptualized by the students in the Youth Union and Student Association. It can be said that this is a show by FEL students.
