More than 1,900 candidates completed the VNUHCM's competency assessment examination

On April 7, 2024, over 1,900 candidates participated in the first phase of the 2024 competency assessment exam organized by the Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM) at LHU, the examination site No. 34.

Dong Nai province alone had more than 6,500 candidates participating in the exam, of which over 1,900 candidates took the exam at 4 exam locations of LHU (campuses 1, 2, 3 and 5). LHU will also use the results of the competency assessment test for entrance admission.

This is the seventh time that VNUHCM has organized the competency assessment examination. This year's exam attracted the largest number ever with 93,831 candidates from 24 localities from the central to the southwest regions with 51 exam clusters and 90 exam venues.

Dr. Lam Thanh Hien - Rector of LHU affirmed that the University had closely cooperated with VNUHCM to ensure security and exam safety. Accompanying VNUHCM in organizing the exam, LHU focused on work progress, facilities, organizational plans as well as preparation steps to support candidates in areas far from the exam locations. To serve the exam, LHU also mobilized more than 200 personnel.

Like previous years, the 2024 competency assessment exam of VNUHCM has basically remained stable in structure and difficulty. Accordingly, candidates took the competency assessment test consisting of 120 multiple-choice questions in 150 minutes. The exam structure had three parts: language use; mathematics, logical thinking, data analysis; and problem solving. The maximum score of the test is 1,200 points.

The results of the exam (phase 1) is scheduled to be announced on April 15. Universities and colleges across the country currently use the results of the test for admission. The second phase of the exam will be held on June 2 in 12 provinces and cities including Dong Nai. Candidates who have participated in phase 1 can still register for phase 2 as usual.
