Korean Studies students win two Consolation prizes at 12th K-Speech Contest

On June 1, 2024 the 12th K-Speech Korean Debate Contest organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Education in collaboration with the Korean Peaceful Unification Advisory Council in Vietnam, the Korean Speech Contest Association of Vietnam and Lifeplaza Magazine attracted great attention from Korean language training institutions, including LHU.

This year’s contest brought together selected students from 22 Korean language training institutions, including foreign language centers, secondary schools, high schools, colleges, and universities in the Central and Southern regions to compete in the two categories: individual debate and group debate.

The K-Speech Korean Speech Contest aims to create a useful academic playground for students to practice, exchange knowledge about Korean culture and learning experiences, as well as improve their communication skills, at the same time strengthening the Vietnam - Korea friendship.

Participating in the 12th K-Speech Contest, LHU had four students majoring in Korean Studies from the Faculty of Oriental Studies to participate in both categories: individual debate (student Nguyen Huynh My Tam, class 21DH111) and group debate (students Tran Ngoc Ha Vy, 21DH113; Duong Huynh Bao Tran and Nguyen Thuy Thuy Duong, class 22DH113).

With their extensive knowledge and confidence, the four students from the Department of Korean Studies won a Consolation prize for group debate and a Consolation prize for individual debate.
