LHU honored for voluntary blood donation

At Dong Nai provincial Event and Convention Center, the provincial Mobilization Board for Voluntary Blood Donation on October 25 held a ceremony to review 2016 and 2017 voluntary blood donation movement and honor typical blood donors.

According to the provincial Red Cross, in 2016 and 2017, the province had mobilized and received over 59,000 blood units, reaching 95,2% of the target that the National Steering Committee for Blood Donation assigned the province.

On this occasion, in addition to 14 collectives and 19 individuals awarded certificates of merit by the Central Vietnam Red Cross, 38 collectives and 29 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the provincial People's Committee for their excellent achievements in voluntary blood donation campaign. The provincial Steering Committee for Blood Donation has also honored 125 families and 313 individuals for their 15-100 voluntary blood donations over the years.

In 2019, the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation assigns Dong Nai to mobilize and receive at least 36,000 units of blood. To reach this target, the provincial Standing Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation determines to continue promoting the propaganda, strengthening the Steering Committee for mobilizing voluntary blood donation at all levels, organizing blood donation programs, promoting the role of Youth Union and Trade Union in mobilizing voluntary blood donation.

Attending and speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation Nguyen Hoa Hiep emphasized that donating blood to save people was a noble action, a good deed with profound humanity. Therefore, all levels, branches, groups and individuals in the province should continue to participate in the voluntary blood donation movement, helping the Party and the State to well perform the care and protection of people's health and well do social work.
