Finance & Accounting Arena 2024: A Thrilling Finale and Outstanding Participants

On November 25, 2024, the grand finale of the Finance & Accounting Arena 2024 took place at Hall A301, Lac Hong University. This intellectual competition provided an exciting platform for young enthusiasts in finance and accounting to showcase their talent, knowledge, and resilience in a highly competitive environment.

The Finance & Accounting Arena 2024 was more than just a competition; it served as a bridge between academic knowledge and real-world professional practice. Throughout the contest, students had the opportunity to:

  • Enhance their professional knowledge and skills: The competition allowed participants to apply theoretical concepts to practical scenarios, improving their analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Develop soft skills: Teamwork, presentation, argumentation, and critical thinking skills were honed through various rounds of the contest.
  • Foster a spirit of healthy competition: Students challenged themselves, learned from peers, and grew personally and professionally.
  • Expand career opportunities: With sponsorship from prestigious organizations such as ACCA and Global Steel Building, the competition created connections between students and leading industry players.

The event was judged by a panel of esteemed experts in finance and accounting:

  • Dr. Nguyen Van Hai – Deputy Dean, Faculty of Finance and Accounting, Lac Hong University.
  • Mr. Le Thanh Hung – Executive Director, TOKOSEIKI Vietnam Co., Ltd.
  • Mr. Ha Nhat Tuan – Partner Education Manager, ACCA Southeast Asia.
  • Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien – Director, Corporate Banking Center, CB Bank Đong Nai Branch.

The four finalist teams included:

  • Tien Toi Đich (Dare to Succeed): Nguyen Thi Hong Tham (DNU), Bui Quoc Đoan (LHU), Le Thi Ngoc Tu (LHU).
  • Next Level (Leading with Difference): Tran Duong Nghi Binh (DNU), Pham Tan Cong (LHU), Nguyen Quynh Anh (LHU).
  • But Pha (United We Thrive): Nguyen Hoang Ngoc Chau (LHU), Pham Ky Dieu (LHU), Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan (DNTU).
  • Tien Xa (Breaking Limits, Reaching Success): Bui Thi Huong Tra (LHU), Hy Va Sam (LHU), Nguyen Ngoc Kim Ngan (MIT).

The final round consisted of three intense segments:

  1. Introduction Round: Teams showcased creativity through their introductions and competition messages.
  2. Speed Round: Participants tackled rapid-fire questions, requiring quick and accurate application of finance and accounting knowledge.
  3. Debate and Case Resolution Round: Teams analyzed, debated, and proposed solutions to real-world financial scenarios, demonstrating their expertise and teamwork.

Final Results:

  • First Prize: Tien Toi Đich – won over the judges with their outstanding critical thinking and practical approach.
  • Second Prize: Next Level – impressed with their innovative solutions and determination.
  • Third Prize (tied): But Pha and Tien Xa – demonstrated exceptional teamwork and competitive spirit.

The Best Contestant Award went to Nguyen Thi Hong Tham from Đong Nai University (DNU), a member of Tien Toi Đich, for her remarkable presentation and arguments that captivated the judges.

The organizing committee extends heartfelt thanks to the judges: Dr. Nguyen Van Hai, Mr. Le Thanh Hung, Mr. Ha Nhat Tuan, and Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien, for their dedication and expertise, ensuring fairness and professionalism throughout the competition.
